Cables

In order to connect everything together you will need some types of cables. You will most definitely need speaker cables. But everything else will vary in some way. Which cables you use will be determined by your equipment. The cables connecting you equipment to each other are commonly called “interconnects”.  The most common interconnect is the HDMI cable. This is used to connect the visual devices like the blu-ray player, projector, etc. Other cables you might use could be RCA, optical and network cable only to name a few. Many A/V receivers and other components will only need HDMI connections. A lot of the analogue connections (like the component connections) are becoming obsolete for the home theatre set up. It is what connects all the equipment together and lets them talk to each other. There is a big movement towards digital connections like the HDMI cable. A good quality cable can help make or break your home theatre system.
